REPORTS TO Senior Quality Manager

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

The role is responsible for embedding of the quality assurance framework and product quality standards for innovation projects and new product introductions. At the same time the role of the job holder is to ensure product is manufactured according to proper specifications and legal requirements in line with customer expectations and facilitate continuous improvement of the product and processes.

What You Will Be Accountable For

Business

  • Implementing a company’s quality controls and policies such as IWS and ISO standardization requirements.
  • Researching and reviewing customer feedback and using this to inform quality processes and decisions.
  • Ensuring that processes meet required standards.
  • Implementing health and safety policies into the overall quality management process.
  • Monitoring the ongoing performance and outputs of the quality process.
  • Undertaking internal quality audits – ISO 9001 & 17025
  • Direct staff and teams across the business to ensure quality frameworks are implemented.
  • Provide updates to senior managers and directors around quality issues.
  • Ensure that all suppliers meet the quality requirements of the company.
  • Leadership Ability to encourage team members to take ownership of their projects

  • To maintain a professional and well-motivated team, ensuring appropriate training and development to ensure succession to all key positions. To promote coaching and champion people development in order to ensure a self-sustaining organization
  • To engender a culture of openness, supported by change management principles – so that the organization is prepared for change and innovation
  • To champion one’s business unit, setting personal examples of excellence and to provide leadership to the team and support the above-factory collaborative processes (by enabling and supporting performance)

Innovation

  • To develop an environment which seeks to continuously improve using continuous improvement techniques and other global assessments, from ideas which come from not only within the department but the rest of the factory and other BAT locations
  • Innovation is key in ensuring that the business develops; Cell Manager have to ensure that ideas are generated, investigated and followed up.
  • To develop and implement best practices, common platforms, sharing experience/knowledge with other functions and factories within Operations.

Essential Experience, Skills And Knowledge

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Planning and project management skills
  • The ability to interpret data, statistics and Problem solving – Effective usage of data analysis tools (e.g. root cause analysis, RCA/CAPA, FMEA and Pareto Analysis
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Sound judgment and decision making
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Familiarity with quality standards and processes – ISO 9001, ISO 17025 & SANAS
