We are recruiting for an experienced SHE Advisor to join the team working on our Severn Trent Water framework.
About The Project
Costain is working closely with Severn Trent Water on their Capital Delivery Framework, as part of its c£2 billion capital programme for AMP7. As part of the Design and Build Framework lot, Costain brings together its design, construction, and consultancy expertise to undertake renewal and refurbishment projects and will assist Severn Trent in its target to make continuous improvements to its safety performance, whilst ensuring continuity of supply and consequently lowering costs of its customers.
Provide operational and functional management advice on the practical implementation of the company’s SHE policies and processes including external stakeholders such as customers if necessary
Assist the SHE manager and Contract Management in understanding of stakeholders (internal and external) aims, priorities and risks with regards to SHE
Assist with the development of Health, Safety and Environmental Management plans
Provide advice and guidance, and where necessary assist with the obtaining legal consents, licenses, and exemptions such as discharge consents, abstraction licenses and waste management licenses as and when required and as directed
Assist with and undertake SHE Advisory Visits, Inspections and Audits where required of operational sites
Provide support to the Bid management team with regards to marketing, tenders and pre-qualification information
Actively promote the company ‘BE SAFE’, ‘BE WELL’ and ‘BE GREEN’ messages in addition to the implementation of best practice principles across the business and to include stakeholders such as the supply chain.
Previous SHE related experience
NEBOSH Construction Certificate, or IEMA Associate Qualification (Course) or equivalent NVQ Level 5
Tech IOSH or AIEMA or equivalent
Extensive experience of delivering presentations, talking in public
The ability to thrive in pressure situations
Excellent communication and time management skills
A passion of Safety, Health and Environment
Be able to work on own initiative when required
Be computer literate
