About the job

Warwick Arts Centre sits at the heart of a university campus and alongside a busy and wide-ranging artistic programme we manage and deliver graduation and conference events for the University. We are an integral part of the regional arts ecology, work closely with our local community, and aim to reflect that community in all that we do.

Over the past 2 years, we have completed and opened a new building and restated our vision and values. Due to these changes, we have invested in our people and wish to expand our teams, so this is an exciting time to join us.

Are you an experienced, forward thinking, inclusive and collaborative theatre technician who is dedicated to working within a customer focussed, multiskilled team to deliver the highest quality in everything you and your team do?

We are looking for a Theatre Technician to support the management and delivery of events at Warwick Arts Centre. In this role you may supervise staff and allocate resources, contribute to the planning, set up and delivery of events, work with cross-functional teams, contact external users to ascertain event requirements and support maintenance and testing of equipment to ensure compliance with current regulations.

You will provide effective team leadership and management and provide the technical lead on specific projects. You will ensure a high-quality customer experience for staff and users, and deliver high standards of health and safety to ensure safe management and delivery of technical requirements/operations for all events on and off site. You will be highly skilled in either technical stage operations and rigging, lighting and electrics, sound, or projection and AV and have a good knowledge of one other area as a strong secondary skill. A positive, pro-active approach to people and technical management with the associated high levels of interpersonal skills are essential for this post.

We believe that the arts are an extraordinary source of wisdom, support, connection, understanding, joy, and inspiration for every one of us. It’s our job to bring art into more people’s lives and the Theatre Technician will be integral to helping us reach more people in new ways by supporting the safe delivery of our wide-ranging events and exhibition programme on and off site.
